Vikram’s Kanthasamy is planned for its release on July but now the release date delays to August because of its pending in computer graphics works.
Kanthasamy is the first film in Tamil cinema with a super hero concept. The film has Vikram and Shriya Saran in lead roles directed by Sasi Ganesan, produced by Kalaipuli S. Dhaanu. The music was scored by Devi Sri Prasad. There some graphics works still remains in pending so it is said that the release is delayed to August month.
Vikram’s Kanthaswamy is on its corner for release and the film had its publicity already by the star rendering his voice for all the songs in the film. Now it is heard that Vikram has decided to dub the film in Telugu too.
Vikram is also popular in Tollywood, his films were dubbed and running successfully, he has never participated in the dubbing processes. After Kanthasamy, Vikram has decided to dub on his own. He hopes that it will give him a special touch to his performance.
Vikram is now excited, because it was just a few days remaining for the release of his Kandhasamy. He is now engaged in Raavan, under the direction of Mani Ratnam.
A few days back, it is rumoured that Vikram might be roped in for 19th Step, directed by Bharat Bala. Now unconfirmed rumour says that a meeting did take place between the star and the director.
19th Step is produced by Disney Productions and has Asin and Tadanobu Asano in lead roles.
The director is in deep research on the topic of the film and he is in discussions with his writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair and wants to make it as authentic as he can! No any announcements and press meets recently about 19th Step by the director.
Having completed Kanthasamy, which is gearing up for release soon, Vikram is busy with Mani Rathnam’s Ravana. There were reports that the star would simultaneously work on the next project with KS Ravikumar alongside Ravana. When Vikram was approached for a clarification, the actor said that the get ups for Ravana and KS Ravikumar’s film differ a lot; therefore, he cannot work on both the projects simultaneously.
Meanwhile, director KS Ravi Kumar is busy with Jaggubhai and Aadhavan. Sources from Kollywood say that while the director completes his Aadhavan, Vikram will be ready for their next venture together.
There seems to be change of plan in the release of Susi Ganesan’s mammoth venture with Vikram and Shreya in the lead, Kanthasamy. According to the latest internet buzz, the movie will be released in the first week of July as opposed to the earlier-decided release date which fell in the last week.
Producer Dhanu was quoted as saying that the movie’s post production works are progressing full swing keeping the latest release dates in mind. Kanthasamy is also made in Telugu as Mallanna and will be released in close to 1000 screens according to the producer.
Vikram is happy over the way his forthcoming release Kanthasamy has shaped up. The actor revealed that he plays a CBI officer in the film. According to Vikram, his role will have a tinge of James Bond-ism in it. Speaking about the eight get ups in Kanthasamy, Vikram said that he has also donned the get up of a woman.
With the film’s director Susi Ganesan time and again stressing that the costumes in the film will be very fashionable and special, Vikram has reiterated that point.
From what we hear about Kanthasamy’s storyline, Vikram will bring in crores of rupees deposited in the Swiss banks and distribute it among the poor. Shreya stars opposite Vikram in this film.
Producer Kalaipuli.S Dhanu organized a live television launch on Sun TV of his Kanthasamy at the Chennai Trade Center on Sunday (May 17) evening.
All the six songs in the film, a few trailer cuts and the making of the film was shown on television as director Susi Ganeshan took over the show, explaining in detail with music director Devi Sri Prasad the finer points of the music of the film.
The songs have been tuned in a peppy manner, catering to the youth. Vikram has sung four of the songs.
The highlight was definitely Shreya’s live dance on the stage along with Italian dancers singing her introduction song Alagra…. The pick of the songs was definitely Mambo Mamia.. sung by Vikram.
Initially, Vikram sat quietly among the audiences, before joining Susi and Devi towards the fag end of the show. The star should have taken over the show from the beginning and made it livelier.
A.R Rahman came just in time to release the album, and left immediately. At the function the director read out the name of 30 donors who have contributed to his pet scheme of adopting 30 villages in Tamilnadu. Nearly 1000 people from these villages came for the audio launch.
Today (April 17) is the birthday of Vikram, better known among friends as Kenny or popularly called Chiyaan Vikram. He is one of the biggest stars in Kollywood, who made it to the top on his own, without any industry connections, through sheer hard work and commitment.
Vikram is not only an actor of substance, after winning a National Award and innumerable other awards, but is also an entertainer par excellence. He has a perfect connect with the audiences through the variety of characters he has done, and is one of the few stars with an opening.
Now he is riding a wave. His Susi Ganesan directed big budget Kanthasamy is tipped to be a blockbuster. In the super hero film he can fly and he sings four of the eight songs in the film. Since Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, a hero is singing in his own voice most of the songs in the film!
And the icing on the cake is that Vikram’s long cherished ambition of doing a Mani Rathnam film has been fulfilled. For the first time in Indian cinema, he is doing the impossible in Ravana. Mani sir was convinced that he could play a role in both versions of the film. In Tamil he is the protagonist while in Hindi the antagonist, making him a ‘complete’ performer.
What makes him Vikram click is that he is a very good actor and has the hunger for good roles and cinema, terrific screen presence and has an awesome box-office reach in all the four southern states. He understands the essence of mass commercial cinema and is one of the few actors who is adept at playing with style and elan both serious and silly roles.
The audio launch of Kalaipuli Dhanu’s Susi Ganesan directed Kanthasamy featuring Vikram and Shreya has been postponed.
At the trailer launch of the film, it was announced that the audio launch would be on April 14, but now due to certain technical reasons it has been postponed and will most likely be on April 26.
Remember that Vikram is singing four of the eight songs in the Kanthasamy album? There is a lot of hype around the album as the music of Devi Sri Prasad is likely to be a chartbuster.
The theatrical trailer launch of Vikram’s, Susi Ganeshan directed Kanthasamy produced by Kalaipuli. S. Thanu took place at Swarna Sakthi Abirami on Tuesday (March 31) evening. There was Chiyaan Vikram, who was shown flying in the trailer as a super hero.
Shreya came casually dressed in a pair of jeans and top. Director Susi, cameraman Ekambaram, Music Director Devi Sri Prasad, Lyric writer Viveka and Chennai distributor Abirami Ramanathan were present while producer Thanu anchored the show.
They were all praise for Susi Ganesan, who they confessed was a “tough taskmaster” who drives them up the wall with his demanding ways. Actually Shreya said that she was proud to be a part of this landmark film. Devi Sri Prasad said that Susi is a very difficult person to convince regarding tunes for the film!
Vikram said- “It is very difficult thing to please Susi the perfectionist. But let me tell you seeing the rushes I’m amazed by the quality of his work which is very good.”
Producer Thanu said: “ I made it a point to fulfill all the demands of Susi who has promised all of us that we will become the number one in our respective fields, and Kanthasamy will be a mega blockbuster.”
Susi Ganesan said in his speech: “ The film has shaped out very well and I will assure you that Vikram will become the numero uno actor in Kollywood after the release of the film.”
