Its a good fortunate time for Kollywood. Even if the movie fails to stay in theaters, its doing wonderful in terms of money.
Say, for Kuruvi, even though its a flop in theaters, it made huge collections in India as well as in international markets including London! If the case of failed movies itself is doing good money imagine the money flow for successful movies. Dasavatharam has done record collection in Singapore, Malaysia and Britain.
Kanthaswamy, in which Vikram and Shriya has starred is being sold in international markets on high demand and it is believed that the producer made Rs 10 million by selling UK rights alone.
Vikram starrer Kanthasamy was shot in Mexico, but when the team arrived in India, they learnt that the film roles were damaged in transit. This has upset the team and now the team is depending on the sets put up in Binni Mills campus.
Few says that it may be the action of ‘Amman’ due to anger as the team spread a rumor that the Neam tree that the team used for shooting started pouring milk. Many astrologers also confirm that it should be due to God’s curse.
Now a days, the action from God seems to more fast than from the Indian legal system.
Rumours about Vikram acting in a Kannada movie named Holidayz can be safely ignored. One of the crew members of the film spoke to media and revealed that they indeed have a guest role for him and are very keen to cast him. But since Vikram is very busy in Tamil films like Kanthaswamy, they did not get a chance to speak with him regarding the role. He added that media reports that Vikram is considering acting in Holidayz are wrong since he has not even been approached for the role.
The cameo appearance will need just one day of shooting. He added that the media will be notified once they have spoken to him and if they reach an agreement.
Vikram’s Kanthasamy with Shreya as eye candy has landed in Hyderabad, after filming some scenes abroad.
Directed by Susi Ganesan, Kalaipuli S. Dhanu is producing this flick simultaneously in Telugu with the title Mallanna. Both Telugu and Tamil versions have been in the news right from the launch, when expensive video invitations, reportedly costing Rs. 15,000 each, were sent to the key movers and shakers of the South Indian film industry.
Recently, the Mallanna/ Kanthaswamy unit flew to Mexico to film some very important scenes. Now that they are back, the producer intends to start the next schedule from July 23rd at Ramoji Film City and Film Nagar in Hyderabad.
Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music for this film made under V Creations banner.
It had been reported earlier that Vikram has a role in Mani Ratnam’s film starring Abhishek and Aishwarya. This film would have been Vikram’s tryst with Bollywood. But after the lukewarm response to the Bachchans’ Sarkar Raj, it looks like Mani has decided to take an actor who has a national appeal. So it will be Sanjay Dutt taking Vikram’s place.
Vikram at present is working in Kanthasamy, which is expected to be a Deepavali release.
